Scientists from Singapore’s Nanyang Technological University and Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR) have developed a device that allows for medication to be applied in a less painful and intrusive way. The device is first adjusted to suit different skin thickness before its two magnets are brought together to pinch a specific skin area. After about two to five minutes, this leads to the formation of ”micropores" beneath the skin surface, which allows ointment or drugs applied to the skin to spread more effectively.
