On the eve of the 2020 US presidential election, owners of some stores in New York City were boarding up shop windows fearing possible unrest over the results of the polls on November 3, 2020. For weeks, there have been growing concerns that violence and chaos could follow the elections regardless of whether President Donald Trump is re-elected or his Democratic Party challenger Joe Biden emerges as the winner.
