COVID-19: Australia's Victoria state deploys military, imposes fines on those do not self-isolate

The Australian state of Victoria will impose tougher fines on people who knowingly breach COVID-19 stay-home orders. 439 new infections and 11 deaths were reported on Aug 4. Those who fail to self-isolate can be fined US$3,500 on the spot — more than double the original amount. Victoria has also seen a rise in so-called "sovereign citizens", including one woman who turned violent, smashing a policewoman’s head into the ground.
